Food is an exciting thing. We partake of it everyday. We celebrate with it. We sorrow with it. It always accompanies our meetings, conferences, and events. We reward with food. We punish with food. We eat out. We eat in. We deliver. We take out. We drive through. We dine out. We eat it on the run. We slowly eat it over a conversation. Food is a part of our lives everyday. We cannot live without it. We do not want to live without it.
However our love affair with food has had some very damaging results in the last few decades. Obesity, muffin tops (belly fat), Type II diabetes, heart disease and Alzheimer's Disease have increased drastically and have become the accepted norm for life. We live sedentary lives. Walking around the house is exercise. Watching TV is entertainment. This must change. When we move our bodies we keep ourselves flexible, pain disappears, muscles appear, fat disappears and we feel good.
Food is everything to our body. It is by food that we get our nutrients. It is by food that we absorb the vitamins and minerals needed. It is by our food that we survive. It is by our food that we get and stay healthy. Follow Heartiness Approach on this journey and we will help you understand what food has to do with arthritis, Type II diabetes, heart disease, digestive problems, osteoporosis and so many more illnesses. Those same bodies that kept us going all those years also respond beautifully when we eliminate the old way of eating and bring in the fresh, real food to nourish and heal. When we add exercise as a way of life energy will become our companion.
